Backr $500 Small Business Credit (“Offer”)

  1. The Offeror is CBA New Digital Businesses Pty Ltd ABN 38 633 072 830 trading as Backr of 201 Sussex St, Sydney NSW 2000 (the “Offeror”). The Backr service is provided by the Offeror, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ABN 48 123 123 124) (“CBA”)

  2. The Offer commences at 9.00AM (AEST time) on the day the Backr service becomes officially available to customers, and closes at 5.00PM (AEDT time) on 31st of October, 2020 (“Offer Period”).

  3. The Offer is valid and open to new account holders of Backr in Australia, who are Australian residents over the age of 18 (“Customer”), and who satisfy the following eligibility requirements outlined in section 4 (“Eligibility Requirements”).

  4. The Customer must meet the eligibility criteria of:

    1. Successfully registering an account with Backr (“Backr Account”) by 31 October 2020 and using the Backr Account to:

      1. register an Australian Business Number (“ABN”) or re-apply for (re-activate) a cancelled ABN; and

      2. register a business name on the Australian Business Register; and

      3. complete a business plan, and

    2. Open and activate a Business Transaction Account with CBA (“BTA”) and use the BTA for the following activities by 31 December 2020:

      1. 1 digital login AND 5 qualifying transactions between day 1 and day 56 of BTA opening; or

      2. 1 digital login AND 1 merchant plan sign up between day 1 and day 56 of BTA opening (“CBA BTA Activities”), (together the “Eligible Customers”).

  5. Existing CBA Business Transaction Accounts are not eligible for the Offer.

  6. Qualifying transactions are limited to any of the following: (1) a purchase; (2) a direct debit; (3) a bill payment; (4) a transfer to an account held by a non-related Customer Information File (CIF); (5) a withdrawal from an ATM or Intelligent Deposit Machine.

  7. Provided that Customer meets all Eligibility Requirements, Eligible Customers will receive $500 credit into their BTA. The $500 credit will be applied to the Eligible Customer’s BTA once the CBA BTA Activities have been completed. This process should take two (2) weeks but may take up to four (4) weeks.

  8. A limit of one (1) $500 credit is available for an Eligible Customer and one (1) ABN registration and one (1) BTA activation only.

  9. This is a limited time only Offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. The Offer is not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions unless specified. The Offeror reserves the right to terminate the offer at any time without notice. Chance plays no part in this Offer.

  10. The Offeror will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever resulting from refusal by CBA to approve the Customer’s application for a BTA or delay in the process of receiving and/or approving an application or activating the BTA.

  11. If an Eligible Customer cancels the Backr Account or BTA before the $500 credit is processed to the Eligible Customer’s BTA, the Eligible Customer may become ineligible for this offer. To the extent permitted by law, the Offeror and its related entities and its and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, will not be liable for any personal injury, loss or damage, whatsoever which is suffered or sustained (including, but not limited to) indirect or consequential, financial or other loss) to or by a Customer or Eligible Customer. The Offeror reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify an Eligible Customer who subsequently becomes ineligible or does not meet with the Eligibility Requirements.

  12. The Offer is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Eligible customers accept the $500 credit ‘as is’ and acknowledge that the Offeror accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the $500 credit. Eligible customers may need to seek advice from the Australian Tax Office or their own taxation adviser or independent financial adviser.

  13. Terms prohibited by law shall be void without prejudice to the remaining terms.
